For inst-ance, each year millions of vinyl badge holders are thrown away and end up in landfills. These vinyl holders take centuries to biodegrade and are petroleum-based which contributes to our dependence on foreign oil. The IRIS Eco Badge solution: a re-usable clip with a clamp to hold the badge in place.

In addition to the green advantages, the IRIS clip/clamp is less expensive than the vinyl badge holder, can be easily recycled and re-used, and has less bulk which reduces shipping costs and storage space. The tight locking clamps eliminate badge slipping, and the badge can be easily scanned, without unclipping, for lead collection.

IRIS has constantly been searching for alternative products that are recycled, reusable or more environmentally friendly. We recently introduced a new paper badge with slightly larger size that also offers great sponsorship opportunities, uses 100% post consumer fibers, is acid free FSC certified paper that is made with 100% clean energy and no chlorine. This paper badge requires no trimming to fit a vinyl holder, so there is less waste in the actual materials; we use TOP QUALITY off the shelf recycled paper products that we have perforated to fold easily.

While the paper product may cost more, your savings are realized by our printing process, we use a very fast four color printer that does not require pre-printing logos or show information, blank paper is inserted in the printer and a complete badge is generated with your show information, logos, sponsorships and name badge information, everything you currently use now on your pre-printed plastic or paper badges is done in exceptionally quick time and it’s on recycled paper, a win win situation for you and the environment.

The IRIS Eco Badge is the latest development in a long list of improvements to help reduce our footprint, but when mailing is needed the mailing address is made a part of the IRIS Eco badge, eliminating any additional paper products.
